The edge is the detail

The edge profile sets the whole feel of a counter. Standard profiles, eased, beveled, and quarter-round, keep it clean and modern. Upgraded profiles, bullnose, ogee, dupont, and cove, add traditional weight. A mitered edge builds a thick, seamless look at any thickness. We fabricate every profile in both 2cm and 3cm stone.

What it is

A natural stone, not a manufactured one

Quartzite is natural stone quarried in slabs, formed from sandstone under heat and pressure until it is nearly as hard as granite. It is not the same as quartz, which is a manufactured surface. The veining and movement are natural, so no two slabs are alike.

The look of marble, the toughness of granite

Marble is softer and etches with acids like lemon and wine. Granite is hard but reads busier and more speckled. Quartzite gives you marble-like veining with hardness at or above granite, which is why it has become the premium choice for kitchens that want the marble look without the upkeep.

Care

Sealed, and simple to live with

Quartzite is porous and should be sealed on installation and periodically after. We handle the first seal. Day to day it wipes clean with mild soap and water. It resists heat and scratches well, though like any natural stone it is not indestructible.
