The Stone ยท Edge Profiles
The edge is the detail
The edge profile sets the whole feel of a counter. Standard profiles, eased, beveled, and quarter-round, keep it clean and modern. Upgraded profiles, bullnose, ogee, dupont, and cove, add traditional weight. A mitered edge builds a thick, seamless look at any thickness. We fabricate every profile in both 2cm and 3cm stone.

What it is
Metamorphic stone, quarried in slabs
Marble is natural metamorphic stone, quarried in slabs, prized for centuries for its soft veining and cool touch. Every slab is unique, from subtle Carrara greys to dramatic Calacatta gold.
Marble vs quartzite
Nearly identical looks, very different wear
Marble and quartzite can look nearly identical, but marble is far softer and reacts to acids. If you want the marble look in a hardworking kitchen, quartzite performs better. If you want true marble character in a bath or fireplace, nothing replaces the real thing.

Care
Sealed, and worn in over time
Marble is porous and etches with acids like lemon, wine, and vinegar, which many owners come to love as a lived-in patina. It is sealed at installation and wiped clean with a pH-neutral cleaner. Best suited to lower-traffic surfaces.
Cost and use
What to expect
Installed marble typically runs [COST_PENDING: sq-ft range, order of magnitude only]. It is happiest indoors, on vanities, fireplace surrounds, and statement pieces rather than heavy-use kitchen counters.
